iMethods is seeking an innovative Server and Applications Manager for a client in the southern NY region.
Management of IT Servers and Technical Applications Teams; ensuring needs and opportunities are identified, evaluated, and implemented in an affordable and effective manner; contributing to the overall development and performance of the Integrated Healthcare Delivery System and IT. Customers include patients, physicians, management, and staff. Provide application leadership for software implementations and server systems.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Manages the planning and development of IT Servers and Technical Applications. The IT servers and applications include non-clinical enterprise-wide and departmental application systems, PC/Client Server systems which are onsite and in-the-cloud (Windows Servers and a limited number of Linux servers,), virtualization of servers, the interface/integration of systems, and the full support of O365 in the cloud. Manage server/application projects and system installation activities.
Has strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills. Be very familiar with IT security and modern server operating systems.
Manages IT Servers and Technical Applications to ensure plans are developed for training, staff scheduling, production scheduling, computer room space, environmental controls, and overall IT performance improvement; established performance goals and objectives are met; support for the implementation of new systems; resolution of any urgent, recurring, or unresolved problems; documentation is developed and maintained; and offsite backup and recovery procedures are effective and tested.
Develops and maintains short range plans, project plans and proposals, employee development plans, and systems management plans.
Establishes controls, including performance and progress reports, to ensure plans are being effectively implemented and IT support is meeting goals and objectives.
Manage the two primary data centers with assistance of the Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations, Supervisor of the Service Desk, and Manager of Telecom and Networking.
Ensures organizational activities and structures are in place to meet established plans and objectives. This includes resource management, systems management, project management, and data management.
Provides a professional IT environment to allow their staff to experience growth in their fields of IT. This includes developing and improving the overall performance by developing and improving IT Servers and Technical Applications, internal and external teamwork, and partnerships and collaboration with other teams and clients. This includes active participation and leadership on various projects, committees, system management groups, task forces, etc.
Associates degree in Information Systems, Management Science, Computer Science, or related field or similar training in the military
Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Management Science, Computer Science, or related field is preferred but overall IT technical, server, and application experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
Three years of experience in application systems and/or project management
Three years of experience in support of Windows Servers and related technical applications
Five years in a supervisory and/or project leadership role is preferred
Having relevant certifications from vendors like Redhat, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, VMware, and Citrix are a plus
