iMethods is currently seeking a Senior SQL Developer for a large healthcare system in the Cleveland, OH area. This is a full-time position and will require relocation to the area.

Position Summary:

The Senior SQL DBA is responsible for the development and implementation of the SQL server life cycle as it relates to application needs, working directly with peers, vendors and application developers to create database strategies that support the application and operational needs of customers. In addition, this role also acts as a DBA architect responsible for designing database environments for client applications including partnering with application vendors and their technology staff to ensure the database environment meets client and regulatory policies and requirements while supporting application requirements.

Essential Duties:

-Performs database system management functions (e.g., software installs, version upgrades and configuration management, security).

-Designs, implements and manages complex database cluster environments including data center SQL cluster farms and application cluster farms.

-Define database objects and relationships as indicated based on requirements of the application.

-Implements business rules via stored procedures, middleware or other technology.

-Implements data models, database structure design, database documentation, backup and recovery processes.

-Perform assessments and identify, test and resolve moderately complex database performance issues (e.g., monitoring and tuning).

-Recommend and/or design and develop monitoring tools and processes for the client SQL enterprise.

-Provides guidance and mentoring to junior administrators and SQL developers in database system management functions (e.g., software installs, version upgrades and configuration management, security).

-Provides guidance and mentoring to junior administrators and SQL developers in assessment and identification, testing and resolving moderately complex database performance issues including database and server alerts and message resolution.

-Performs code and index reviews.

-Designs and implements SQL server and other database periphery technologies such as Reporting Services, Notification Services, Analysis Services, and Service Broker.

-Works directly with vendors, IT&S leaders and customers to implement database environments that meet regulatory requirements as well as client security requirements and standards. Ensures database environments are properly installed and implemented and utilize appropriate backup strategies.

-Performs moderately complex modification, testing and debugging tasks on vendor supplied utilities and packages to ensure fit with current operating environment.

-Leads in the escalation of issues with appropriate internal resources.

-Leads the development and maintenance of system documentation.

-Performs all technical support of assigned applications.

-Reviews and edits system documentation developed within the department for the SQL environment to ensure that client access to product is efficient and meets all regulatory and security requirements.

-Works with hospital systems.

-Partners with the Project Management Office and participates in all phases of project implementation.

-Utilizes and maintains appropriate change control procedures and standards.

-Performs on-call duties as required.

Education:

Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Business Management or equivalent

Credentials, Licensure or Certification:

-Microsoft Certified DBA desired

-MCITP Database Administrator desired

-Microsoft Certified IT Professional Developer (MCITP) Microsoft SQL server desired

Experience & Knowledge:

-3+ years experience as a SQL database administrator in an enterprise environment required.

-Minimum of 3 years experience with SQL servers and clusters required.

-Proficient in the use of current SQL Server technologies required.

-Ability to work with Views, Data Dictionaries, Stored procedures, DTS and SSIS packages required.

-Experienced in database disaster recovery approaches and technologies required.

-Ability to troubleshoot technical problems related to the implementation and processing of database software required.

-1+ years experience in IT Healthcare desired.

-Proficient with Microsoft .Net programming languages as they relate to Microsoft SQL including C# and VB.Net preferred.

-Experience with XML data types, XML parsing and SQL XML functions preferred.

-Familiar with the development of monitoring strategies that encompass the entire SQL enterprise preferred.

-Experience in SQL Server Replication technologies preferred.

-Ability to research and analyze information preferred.

-Knowledge of MS Office and MS Visio is required.

-Strong written and verbal communication skills.

-Strong analytical skills with an ability to organize and communicate thoughts clearly.
