Market Development Manager
The Market Development Manager will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of our target markets to identify and cultivate new business opportunities for the iMethods Sales Team. In this role, the successful candidate will communicate with clients and potential clients, working to understand their needs to initiate interest in our offerings and create the foundation for the sales team to create a shared vision of client success. The Market Development Manager will successfully meet aggressive, but fair targets for marketing qualified leads that convert to sales-qualified leads. This role will partner with our sales team to meet sales quotas and translate our brand message into market and prospect interest. This role is an exempt position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute daily on inbound and outbound strategies and tactics leveraging the iMethods website, LinkedIn, email and telephone to generate marketing-qualified leads
- Research, identify and qualify prospective clients within target market segments (leveraging marketing qualified leads, industry databases, contact management tools and network connections where appropriate)
- Within new opportunities, identify key decision-makers, challenges, market factors, etc. to contribute to account plans that will effectively focus business development efforts, driving conversions from Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) to Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs)
- Present iMethods solutions to further qualify inbound inquiries
- Communicate opportunity insights gained during prospective client discussions to sales leadership to support further engagement
- Manage and track leads in the CRM system, ensuring timely follow-ups and accurate reporting of conversion activities and progress
- Monitor industry trends and gather competitive intelligence to guide brand positioning, keep the organization updated on industry trends and identify new potential service lines for the company
- Prepare and present regular reports on market development activities, outcomes and insights
- Continuously evaluate and refine market development strategies based on performance data and market feedback
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate clearly and credibly demonstrate domain knowledge
- Strong oral, written and listening communication skills
- Familiarity with account-based marketing model
- Experience with CRM, ATS and marketing/sales automation tools, familiarity with industry databases and use of Microsoft Office applications
- Interest and aptitude in researching opportunities, capturing pain points and setting goals
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and create selling opportunities
- Strong follow-up skills and ability to maintain open, constructive communication with potential clients
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, able to work independently and multi-task
- Some experience with cold/warm calling is preferred
- Willing and able to take on special projects as needed
Required Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
- 5+ years of experience in market development, business development or strategic marketing, preferably with a focus on the healthcare IT industry
- Selling and/or account management experience in the healthcare field preferred
- Healthcare IT recruiting experience preferred
- Project management experience a plus
